Ashley Wirkus left Summer House after season two and has since been focusing on growing both her family and her business away from reality TV cameras.
Even though summer 2021 is just around the corner, Bravo’s hot hit Summer House is in full swing with its fifth season. The show follows around twenty and thirty-something entrepreneurs who escape from bustling New York City to the seascape getaway spot of Montauk for some summertime R&R. Yet the cast always seem to be embroiled in more house drama than the overwhelming workload they left behind.
The premiere of Summer House in 2017 introduced the world to glamazon power twins Ashley and Lauren Wirkus. These fashionistas created an uber-successful lifestyle blog, which boasts over 60,000 Instagram followers to date. During the first two seasons of the show, viewers took notice of Ashley’s maternal approach toward her younger and naive sister. Having already been married to husband Brad for two years before making her reality TV debut, Ashley was forever concerned with Lauren’s dating behavior. The show depicted Ashley as the mother hen to Lauren’s little chick, but at times, fans seemed to think Ashley’s protective ways were overbearing.

It has been three whole years since the Wirkus twins bid their Hamptons cast mates adieu. In season one, Ashley confirmed she would be relocating to California to reunite with her husband while starting a new business venture. Life, as it often does, threw a lot at Ashley since 2018. For starters, she and husband Brad welcomed their first child in 2019 – a beautiful baby boy they named Dean. Ashley often posts photos of her gorgeous family on her Instagram:
Only two months after giving birth to her son, the older Wirkus twin suffered a health scare when she was diagnosed with skin cancer. She was able to recover after undergoing surgery for the removal of a malignant back tumor. This six-foot tall wife and mama prefers life away from the cameras, as she has steered clear of any reality TV gigs since her time on Bravo. The 32-year-old is currently too busy running her own resale boutique called Uptown Carlsbad located in Carlsbad, CA. She is one of only four owners in the state to help shoppers on a budget to buy, sell, or trade their items for cash.
Even though Ashley has left her summers in the Hamptons behind her, the series is still going strong. Over the past five years, new faces have appeared in new vacation houses on Summer House as the guys’ and gals’ love interests are forever changing. While the current cast recently spent their final weekend together, viewers are gearing up for next week’s reunion special.
Summer House airs Thursdays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
