OCEANSIDE, CA โ Oceanside police confirmed the arrest Friday morning of Bailey Tennery, 24, the woman suspected as the driver in a fatal hit-and-run on July 15.
Bicyclist Jackson Williams, 27, of Carlsbad, was pronounced dead at the scene on Oceanside Boulevard just west of Interstate 5, after police responded to multiple calls last week on Thursday around 11:30 pm.
Tips from the community helped police identify the driver, according to Oceanside Police department spokesperson Tom Bussey.
Tennery was arrested at her Oceanside home and police also seized her black 2014 Nissan Versa Note, which is the vehicle Tennery is accused of driving when the accident occurred. She was booked into the Vista Detention Facility at 8:40 am and held on $150,000 bail, according to the jail’s website. Tennery was being held on two charges including suspicion of hit-and-run causing death or injury and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
